The absurd criminal case concerning "public disorderly conduct" on July 27, 2019 is being fabricated right in front of our eyes. Every defendant of "Case 212" is innocent!
We demand an end to these unjust criminal prosecutions.
WHAT IS "CASE 212"?
a criminal case was instituted under Article 212 of the Russian Federal Criminal Penal Code. The authorities characterised the peaceful demonstrations as "public disorderly conduct", punishable by the law.
thousands of people took to the streets of Moscow. This mass rally was an answer to the authorities decision to invalidate thousands of Muscovites' signatures, thereby disqualifying independent candidates from participating in the Moscow City Duma elections. The peaceful protest ended with mass arrests and detentions.

By September 2, 18 people were detained under "Case 212". Seven of them have already been sentenced to real prison terms. Three are awaiting sentencing in detention centers. Two are under house arrest and one has been released on bail. Six others have had their charges dropped.

    DANIL BEGLETS
    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigator declared that there was a video showing him 'striking unidentified police officers, thereby obstructing their legitimate actions'.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, September the 3rd.
    Date of appeal: 2019, October the 7th.
    Date of cassation: 2020, March the 27th.
    Now: a penal colony.
    Term: 2 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony.
    The court of cassation has changed the form of punishment from a general regime colony to a settlement colony. One day spent by Danil in a pre-trial detention center will be counted in two days in a penal colony.
  • (28 years old, incomplete degrees in physics engineering and psychology teaching)
    KIRILL ZHUKOV
    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Kirill is accused of trying to raise a helmet visor of a member of the Russian National Guard during the demonstration on July 27th.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, September the 4th.
    Now: a penal colony.
    Term: 3 years of imprisonment.

    The charge: Part 2 of Article 212 and Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to investigators, he threw a trash bin at a policeman.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, September the 4th.
    Now: a penal colony.
    Term: 3,5 years of imprisonment.

    KONSTANTIN KOTOV
    The charge: Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation also known as "Dadin`s article" on multiple violations in the organization of a protest. The Investigative Committee completed the investigation in 4 days.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, September the 5th.
    Now: a penal colony.
    Term: 4 years of imprisonment.

    IVAN PODKOPAEV
    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318, article 212.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. During inspection, police officers found in his backpack a hammer, a penknife, gas spray and a gas mask.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, September the 3rd.
    Now: a penal colony.
    Term: 2 years of imprisonment after appeal.

    VLADISLAV SINITSA
    The charge: Paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 282 of of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, a Tweet he posted constitutes a criminal intention to incite hostility and hate towards all law enforcement officers and their families.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, September the 3rd.
    Now: a penal colony.
    Term: 5 years of imprisonment.

    PAVEL USTINOV
    The charge: Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Pavel is accused of using violence against a member of the Russian National Guard, leading to the dislocation of his shoulder.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, September the 16th.
    Term: 1 year suspended sentence.

    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, December the 6th.

    YEGOR ZHUKOV
    The charge: He was charged under Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, however, later this charge was canceled.Now he is convicted under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code because the investigative officers found "calls for extremist activity" in four videos on his YouTube channel.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, December the 6th.
    Term: 3 years suspended sentence with the prohibition to administer the Internet pages for 2 years.

    YEGOR LESNYKH
    Date of arrest: 14 October.
    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, December the 6th.

    NIKITA CHIRTSOV
    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, on the 27th of July he used violence intentionally against a policeman by pushing him with two hands into the chest, thereby hurt him.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, December the 6th.
    Term: 1 year of imprisonment.
    Now he is in the detention center-1 in Kursk.

    SAMARIDDIN RADZABOV
    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the prosecution, Radzabov hurt the Russian National Guard member dressed in protective equipment by throwing a plastic bottle at him.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, December the 24th.
    Term: a penalty 100 000 rub, but he was released from paying a penalty in connection with the detention in the detention centre for 5 months.

    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, he used violence against the police.
    Date of sentencing: 2019, December the 9th.

    Now he is in the detention center-3 in Voronezh Oblast.

    The charge: Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, he used violence against the police.

    ALEXEY VERESOV
    The charge: He was charged under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code because the investigative officers found "calls for extremist activity" in his comment on social media about the judge who ruled in the "case 212", however, later this charge was canceled. Now he is convicted under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code.
    Date of sentencing: 2020, January the 16th.
    Term: a penalty 160 000 rub.

    The charge: Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He was accused of organizing a directed movement of protesters on Petrovsky Boulevard on July 27th.

  • (22 years old, a student of Bauman Moscow State Technical University)
    The charge: Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. As many others, at first he was just a witness.

  • (20 years old, a student of Kosygin Russian State University)
    The charge: Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He was accused of throwing two empty plastic bottles of 0.5 and 0.3 liters in the direction of the police.

  • (34 years old, entrepreneur, volunteer)
    The charge: Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Only he and Sergey Fomin remained under investigation under the public disorder article solely.

    The court obligated the Ministry of Finance to pay him 150 000 rub for illegal criminal investigation.

    SERGEY FOMIN
    The charge: Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. On the 5th of August, the Investigative Committee put him on the "wanted list" because he wasn't at the place of registration (he said he was on vacation). On the 9th of August, he surrendered to the police voluntarily.
    He was released on the 6th of December.
